Renewd

Privacy policy · Effective October 23, 2026

Your licenses and certificates stay yours.

Renewd keeps your licenses, certificates and cards on your own devices. We don't collect them, see them or sell them, and there is no account to make.

What we collect
Nothing. The app has no analytics, no ads, no tracking and no third-party code, and it makes no network requests of its own.
Where your records live
On your iPhone, iPad or Mac, and on your Apple Watch if you use it. Never on our servers; we have none.
Who can see them
Only you, and anyone you choose to send an audit packet or a certificate to.
How to delete them
Remove a license, certificate or card in the app, or delete the app.

Who we are

Renewd is made by IndieDeveloperJ LLC ("we", "us"), an independent app developer in Arizona, USA. This policy covers the Renewd apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, their widgets, Siri and Shortcuts actions, and these web pages.

What the app keeps, and where

Everything you put in the app is stored on your device, inside the app's own storage:

The widgets, the Siri and Shortcuts actions and the Watch read the same records through storage shared on your devices. None of it is sent to us.

Scanning and importing certificates

When you scan a certificate, or open one from Mail, Files or a drop on the Mac, Renewd reads its course, date and hours with Apple's on-device text recognition. The picture and the text stay on your device.

Topic suggestions

When the title of a certificate you scan, add by hand or add with Siri doesn't name one of your required topics, Renewd can ask Apple's on-device language model, part of Apple Intelligence, which of your topics the course covers, and marks its answer as a suggestion for you to check. It's given only the course title, your topics and your license's profession. The model runs on your device, so none of this is sent to Apple or to us. On a device, language or region without Apple Intelligence, Renewd simply doesn't suggest a topic.

Apple Watch

If you use the Watch app, your iPhone sends it your licenses, certificates and cards so it can show what's left. This goes directly between your devices through Apple's WatchConnectivity, not through us.

iCloud

When iCloud sync is available and turned on, your records are kept in your own private iCloud database so they appear on your other devices. They are stored by Apple under your Apple Account, governed by Apple's privacy policy, and we cannot read them.

Permissions the app may ask for

Purchases

Renewd Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your name, card or Apple Account. The app checks your Pro status with Apple on your device. Apple gives us sales reports that don't identify you.

Audit packets and sharing

An audit packet is a PDF made on your device from your certificates. It goes only where you save or send it, such as your board, your employer or your own files.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive what you send, including your email address, and use it only to answer you. We keep that correspondence in our email inbox and delete it on request. Please don't send us your license number or certificates; we never need them to help.

These web pages

These pages set no cookies, load no web fonts and use no analytics. They are served by Cloudflare, which processes basic request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Children

Renewd is made for licensed professionals and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect anyone's personal information, children's included.

Your rights

Because your records stay on your devices, you already hold them: you can see, change or delete all of them in the app. For anything we hold, which is only email you've sent us, write to us and we'll answer within 30 days, whatever your country or state.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change affects what the app does with your data, we'll say so in the app's release notes first.
